This week, I reviewed David Bazan’s latest full-length, the intense and deeply personal Curse Your Branches, for PopMatters. I’ve long felt that Bazan is one of the most underrated singer-songwriters out there, so it’s good to see him turning out quality material again—in my opinion, this is easily his best (read: most depressing) work since Pedro the Lion’s Control. I’ve also been writing some track reviews lately, tossing my two cents on Cold Cave’s “Life Magazine” and Radiohead’s “These Are My Twisted Words” and “Harry Patch (In Memory Of)” into the bottomless well that is the music blogosphere.
